CRIME SCENE: The End of Innocence

I absolutely LUV the times when I just get to play with fun people and experiment without restrictions.. It really is as much about the process as the outcome for me..

Michelle wanted to do an Alice in Wonderland theme and Kristen wanted to be the Last Pageant Queen. Something about that tire swing just screamed lost childhood to me..

I am always interested in how something so innocent can become so morbid.. Perspective paints the world from moment to moment..

Thank you to both models for allowing me to "ugly you up".. And thank you to CAROLINE for the Makeup that did the ugly-ing.. :)

CRIME SCENE: The Dead Girl... Lavidity

I saw that movie and was inspired to replicate the feel of it..

So I called up Jillian, who is an AMAZING SFX MUA, to come out and play in the middle of nowhere with BRE, who is game for anything and slightly demented.. :)

Thank you Ladies for being willing to put your talents and slightly demented minds together to make this easy for me and way too much fun to be legal in most states.

More to come..

CHAIR SERIES: Time-Out

Whenever I think about a Time-Out Chair, I picture it being more than just putting some randomly comfy chair in the corner and expecting someone to sit there unrestrained while they are in the middle of a tantrum.

But maybe it is just my issues surfacing..

Feminine Strength

I seem to be in the minority of men I know who think women can be strong and feminine and sensual and womanly without looking like the stereotypical Barbie Doll or Video Vixen.

Those that know me know that I am a fan of physically strong women.. Great legs and strong firm frames always hold my attention longer than curvy and smooth. and when given the choice, muscle trumps anything else visually for me..

Yesterday I met Kelly, who at a glance is quite deceptive. She appears very petite and unassuming and has a self described "Tomboy" edge to her.

She has short pixie hair and wore oversized athletic gear and no makeup to our shoot. She seemed really comfy in her own skin without all the trappings most women get caught up in.

But once you get to SEE her, you realize how girly and sweet and goofy and funny she is.. We spent most of our time together laughing and talking trash like an old married couple.

Though she swears I cant, I think after some overdue cardio I can kick her ass.. LMAO

Fear of a Black Planet...

There was a Diversity seminar I attended two weeks ago that reported "self described Whites are the true minorities by population when the world population is taken into account, though they behave as though they are the majority because of American and global white privilege".

Christianity, though promoted and marketed more than any other religion, is also outnumbered.

If there were only 100 people on earth, the racial, ethnic, and religious breakdown would be:
http://www.miniature-earth.com/

61 ASIAN
13 AFRICANS
12 EUROPEANS
8 NORTH AMERICANS
5 SOUTH AMERICANS / CARIBBEAN
1 OCEANA

31 CHRISTIANS
18 MUSLIMS
16 NON RELIGIOUS
14 HINDUS
13 OTHER

It always amazes me the things we believe being born and raised in America and thinking this is how the rest of the world looks, lives, and believes. If people looked beyond their own backyard, they may see the world differently and hopefully behave accordingly.

I had a great time shooting at our SUSHI SUNDAY photo shoot. While most of the day was me being obnoxious and enjoying the moments, some of the images made me think beyond the intended result.

YIN YANG

" In Chinese Philosphy the concept of yin yang (often referred to in the west as yin and yang) is used to describe how seemingly disjunct or opposing forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, giving rise to each other in turn.

Many natural dualities – e.g. dark and light, female and male, low and high – are cast in Chinese thought as yin yang.

According to the philosophy, yin and yang are complementary opposites within a greater whole. Everything has both yin and yang aspects, which constantly interact, never existing in absolute stasis. "

I think we often get so wrapped up in ourselves that we forget that we are all a part of a much larger picture. All interconnected and only as strong and healthy as the weakest and sickliest amongst us.

RESTRAINT SERIES: ANTICIPATION... Worth the wait..??

Gotta luv what you know is coming, even when you aren't sure you are ready for it.. Sometime you just have to accept your situation, brace yourself and breathe deeply..

And Embrace the Afterglow.....

Thank you to Rhona for allowing me to be random, bringing her ideas to the table, potentially corrupting others around her, and scaring every small animal within the sound of her voice.. Screaming really is relative..

RESTRAINT SERIES: TORTURE.... Really...??

What some call torture, others call pleasure..

There really must be a thin line between pleasure and pain.

I often wonder how many people are willing to explore the darker side of themselves. I think more people than not have the desire, but lack the will..

I am often surprised by who I find when I ask the question, though rarely are they willing to just volunteer the information for fear of being judged harshly or looked at differently.

What a much more interesting place the world would be if more people asked the questions and better yet, volunteered the information instead of hoping someone guesses correctly..

I always think it is better to know than not know.. and more room out than in..

Dr. Phil likes to say that forcing people to guess never works to your benefit..

I just want to publicly thank the models who put up with my randomness.. No models, animals, or dolls were injured in the creation of my images.. Though I did get a cramp in my hamstring trying to balance myself while I took these... But I worked thru it..

Celebrating a Dying Breed..

Today I met Hannah..

She is fun luving and intelligent and athletic and a Natural REDHEAD..

It has been said that the redhead gene (aka "Ginger Factor X"), whilst recessive, appears in up to 40% of some populations.

BUT, while that is true, REDHEADS are becoming rarer and could be extinct in 100 years, according to genetic scientists.

The current National Geographic magazine reports that less than two per cent of the world's population has natural red hair, created by a mutation in northern Europe thousands of years ago.

Global intermingling, which broadens the availability of possible partners, has reduced the chances of redheads meeting and producing little redheads of their own.

It takes only one red-haired parent to produce ginger-headed babies, but two redheads obviously create a much stronger possibility.

SOME FACES...

SOME FACES are just meant to be stared at.. Often we dont know why, but we are drawn to them almost uncontrollably.

This, for me, is one more of those faces..

LONGING....

As with most of my shoots, I never have specific images in mind, only a feeling I am looking to capture.. This shoot was no exception..

I luved the location and the various textures it provided, so I just wanted to play off of that.. Allowing the models to just be one more texture in the image.

So it literally went from a Wizard of Oz theme to feeling like those old Romance Novels..

Thank you Ron (ETB Photo) for being such a gracious host and sharing these locations with me and to Traycee J and Goddess Angie for coming out to the middle of nowhere and spending an afternoon with us playing and avoiding old wells and green moss spiders..

Lost Innocence...

There is something about the Loss of Innocence that is appealing in a very primal kind of way.. That desire is the foundation for a lot of behaviors; Deviant and otherwise.

People often desire to have an experience they have seen or heard others had or be the first to help someone else have an experience that they have already had themselves .

And the more innocent the apperance of the person, the more desireable that urge becomes for others to help them fulfill that experience.

So I often wonder if the person being viewed is actually as innocent as the viewer perceives them to be, or is it just a reflection of the viewers desire being projected onto them.

Thank you Angie for 'Monkey Toes' and pre-moistened Animal Crackers and to DJ for the opportunity to talk thru the process and remember why everthing should always be a teachable moment and a learning experience.
